Carriages are large four wheeled horse drawn vehicles for private passengers known for their comfort and elegance. Carriages can be light, fast, smart, or heavy. They all have a form of suspension, either leather straps or by leaf springs. They can be simple and elegant or ornate. Royal carriages tend to be the most ornate.
